Deal Or No Deal

Our friend Dan was a contestant on "Deal Or No Deal". The episode was filmed last fall, but aired for the first time nationwide last week. He did really well, winning $41K. It was just so neat to see him on TV - very entertaining as usual!

And since we don't have DVR or Tivo and Monte was out of town and couldn't see it, I took a picture of the screen...

Last Posting Now Untrue

Monte noticed it first... Ani's finally got a tooth poking through! It's barely noticeable - just a white speck on her gums. We rubbed our fingers over it and it's sharp. Now that I think about it, she has been a little fussy in the last few days and not going down for her naps as well. Maybe it was the tooth.

We are also teaching her a few signs, and today she did the bottle sign. That was exciting. AND another thing that happened today - we were reading her "Five Little Ducks" book, in which "Mother Duck says Quack, Quack, Quack" on nearly every page. And Ani said "Quack, Quack, Quack"! It was hilarious. Sounded more like "Wack, Wack, Wack" but I know she was trying to repeat what I was saying.

Brasa & G. Love

Friday night, Ani got to hang with Amy (thanks again!) so Monte and I could go out on the town. We ate at Brasa for dinner, very yummy! Cool atmosphere too. The building is an old gas station (at least it looks like it) and since it was a warm 73 degrees that evening, they had all 3 garage doors opened to the outside. We definitely enjoyed our dinner and can't wait to eat there again.

Afterwards, we headed to the G. Love concert at First Ave. Let's just say both Monte and I felt very old. It was an 18 and up show and quite possibly 50% of the concert goers were between 18-21... or at least they acted like it. Hopefully I wasn't that bad when I was that age, otherwise I guess what goes around comes around!

G. sounded really good though and played all the songs we wanted to hear. If only we could have avoided all the crazies that kept bumping into Monte in order to get 2 inches closer to the stage. Really.

Happy Easter

Hope everyone had an enjoyable day!

No, they're not dyed eggs but they're colorful enough and I don't think Ani cared! :)

Fun-filled Friday

On Good Friday, I took Ani to the MN Zoo to see the baby farm animals. We met up with Amber and her 2 little ones - her youngest, Brody, is just a day older than Ani. When we planned this, neither of us thought about the fact that it was Good Friday... a holiday.... no school.... so needless to say, the zoo was completely packed. I've never seen so many strollers in my life. We had fun though and tuckered our little kiddies out by the time we loaded them back into our cars!

That afternoon, Monte and I had back-to-back (and long-overdue) eye appointments. Because it was a holiday, our opthamologist had no other patients so we kind of had free reign at her clinic. Ani was crawling up and down the hallway while we got our eyes checked. My prescription got worse, if that is even possible. Poor Ani - even the opthamologist was sad about her probable poor eye sight in the future (bad genes!) :(

After we all three took naps after the eye appointments, we headed down to Hastings to spend the evening at the Hagen's. We had some very tasty bbq chicken flatbread pizza and their famous salsa (not together) and then went hot tubbing while Ani slept in her car seat in the other room. It worked out well!

So we had a fun Friday, but it was quite exhausting too!

10 Months & A New Bike?

As of April 1, Ani is 10 months old! It's getting hard to do my little photo shoots, as you can tell. I had to have Monte help me out with this one.

Monte has recently finished renovating his Bridgestone MB1 (well, ONE of them) :) He had the frame stripped and repainted and did some other stuff that I'm not aware of, or that I don't know how to describe! He loves it though. Went for a leisurely ride around Lake Nokomis the other night.
