The 27th Annual Apple Duathlon was held on Saturday, May 23 in Sartell, MN. Dirks Duo competed for the first time together and were happy with our performance. I ran a 5K, Monte biked 30K, then I ran another 5K.

Several of our friends participated in the race too (such as Team Vicious and Delicious) and it was a lot of fun for us! Of course a visit to the HOP was in store the night before to carb up.
I am also an aunt for the 8th time! Luke Jonathon TeStrake was born last Thursday, May 21 weighing in at 7 lbs. 5 oz. Everyone is home now and doing well. My parents drove down to KC and watched big sister Ava while Matt & Kristi were in the hospital. Can't wait to meet the little guy.

And last but certainly not least.... another big Ani milestone - she took 4 steps yesterday! We were so proud. I think she may have taken a couple more steps if I hadn't screamed out of excitement and distracted her concentration! Here's a pic of her happy face over the weekend.
